Mailibrary:
Created in the fall of 1972 to replace the library's bookmobile service,
Mailibrary (Books-by-Mail) is a much needed and valuable "library
within a library". It's primary focus is to provide paperback
reading materials to those unable to visit the main library, however the
popularity amongst those people with demanding schedules grows daily.
Registration:
Anyone living in Lauderdale County may become a registered patron of the
Mailibrary simply by requesting, completing, and returning a simple
registration form.
Item Delivery
and Return:
Books can be delivered to Mailibrary patrons in two ways. These include
1) books may be mailed to the patron via US Mail, or 2) books may be
picked up by the patron or his/her representative at the library's
Circulation desk. Books are checked out to patrons for one (1) month.
Books may be returned to Mailibrary in a variety of ways. First, patrons
may mail the books back via US Mail at their own expense. Patrons may
also return the items directly to the library or utilize one of the two
remote drop boxes.
