DESCRIPTION:April is National Poetry Month\, 30 days of celebrating the joy\, expressiveness\, and pure delight of poetry! What is blackout poetry you ask? Blackout poetry is when you take a written piece of text from a book\, newspaper\, or magazine and redact words\, to come up with your very own poetry. You can make it into cool picture designs too. Don’t worry we won’t make you read your poem out loud unless you want to. Brownie points if you do! If you want to do this at home grab some old newspapers\, magazines\, or books (ask your guardian first before using old books) then grab a black marker or color of your choice and blackout the words you don’t want to use in your poem and that’s it.
