• Snow Day for Grown-Ups

    Who says snow days are just for kids? Take a break from the winter hustle and enjoy a playful afternoon of hands-on snow fun—without the cold! We’ll be making our own “snow” using shaving cream and baking soda, then diving into winter-themed sensory play. All supplies provided—just bring yourself and a sense of fun!

  • Fake Snow Sensory Project

    The toddlers will use their imagination and play with penguins in snow that was created using only 2 household ingredients.

  • Jingle Jam Karaoke

    Come hang out for a festive afternoon of Christmas karaoke, hot cocoa, snacks, and good times with friends! Whether you’re ready to belt out Mariah Carey or just sing along from the sidelines, Jingle Jam is all about fun, music, and celebrating the season together. Wear your favorite festive holiday attire — no pressure, just come as you are, bring a friend, and get in the Christmas spirit!

  • Pre-Holiday Workout

    Calories Don’t Count If You Work Out First, Right? Join us for a festive pre-holiday workout at the library—because we’re all just trying to balance cookies and cardio this time of year! Rock your best festive gear—ugly sweaters, jingle bells, and elf ears welcome!

    The library elves have been busy sprinkling holiday magic all around the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library, and they’re ready to welcome families to a joyful day of festive fun! Join us for our 5th Annual Santa’s Workshop, a merry celebration packed with cheerful activities and unforgettable moments for all ages. Event Highlights: • A special visit with Santa • Mrs. Claus’ Storytime at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 2:00 PM • Train rides in the west parking lot • ✂️ Holiday crafts perfect for the season • A festive scavenger hunt in the Children’s Department • Angie Hale’s Petting Zoo & Pony Rides • Vitalant Blood Drive from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM Bundle up in your holiday best and stop by anytime between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM — the elves have turned every corner of the library into a winter wonderland, indoors and out. We can’t wait to celebrate a day full of festive cheer with you!

    We are closed on Wednesday, 12/24 through Friday, 12/26 for the Christmas holiday.  We wish everyone a joyous and happy Christmas!  We will reopen on Saturday, 12/27, at 9:00am.

    Start your day with some bingo fun at the library as we celebrate Bingo’s birthday month! Join us for a lively morning filled with exciting bingo games and the chance to win fantastic prizes. Be sure to wear your favorite holiday attire. To ensure everyone gets a fair shot, there’s a limit of 2 prizes per person. Don’t miss this opportunity for excitement, camaraderie, and a festive celebration!
