    Join us for Snapshot Day at Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library as we celebrate the vibrant life of our library community! This special day invites you to participate in capturing and documenting the everyday moments that make our library a hub of activity and creativity. What to Expect: · Snapshot Challenge: Help us highlight the dynamic atmosphere of the library by taking photos of library staff or fellow patrons (with their permission). Your snapshots will contribute to a special showcase celebrating the library’s role in our community. How to Participate: 1. Snap a Photo: With permission, take photos of library moments and interactions. 2. Share Your Photos: Contribute to our library’s visual story by sharing your images with. Tag us on Facebook or email your photos to library@meridian.lib.ms.us with the subject line “Snapshot Day 2024.” 3. Complete Our Survey: Share your experience and feedback by filling out our survey. Your input helps us enhance our library services and community engagement. Come and be a part of our Snapshot Day as we create a vibrant collage of library life!

  • Tech Technology Classes for Beginners: Email & Messaging

    This two-hour training session is designed to help participants improve their proficiency in using email and messaging platforms for effective communication. The course will cover essential tips and strategies for managing email accounts, organizing inboxes, composing clear and professional messages, and using various messaging apps for both personal and professional communication. Participants will learn how to optimize email settings, manage contacts, avoid common email pitfalls, and utilize messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, and others for quick and efficient communication. The training will include practical exercises, best practices, and real-world examples to ensure participants leave with the confidence to manage their email and messaging tools effectively. While you’re here, be part of our Snapshot Day Challenge! Whether you're using an iPhone or an Android device, this course will cover a range of features and shortcuts that can improve productivity, security, and overall user experience. Participants will learn how to customize their smartphone settings, manage apps more efficiently, use voice assistants, enhance photography skills, secure their devices, and discover hidden features that make everyday tasks easier. The session will include hands-on demonstrations and opportunities for participants to practice what they learn in real-time. This two-hour training session is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to protect their personal information and devices from online threats. The course will cover essential online safety practices, including secure browsing, recognizing phishing attempts, password management, and safeguarding personal data. Participants will learn how to identify and avoid common online scams, use two-factor authentication, and protect their devices from malware and viruses. The training will also include tips on maintaining privacy on social media, securing online transactions, and understanding the importance of regular software updates. Through practical demonstrations and real-world examples, participants will gain the confidence to navigate the digital world safely and securely.
