• Teen Talk

Schools out and you’re not sure what to do this summer! Visit the library, make a new friend, and talk about the latest books and trends! Games and refreshments will be provided!

  • Comfort Blankets

Teens will be encouraged to work together to make a no-sew blanket to donate. We will talk about different organizations dedicated to helping the homeless in our area. This will also be an opportunity to earn volunteer hours and learn about volunteer opportunities in the Meridian community.

  • Puzzle Pandemonium

Connect with tweens & teens in your community! Puzzle Pandemonium is a chance to team up and compete against your peers and see who can complete their puzzle first! Prizes will be awarded!

  • Kindness Rocks

Share small acts of kindness. Kindness Rocks are painted rocks that are decorated with positive and uplifting messages and then placed somewhere in the community for others to find. If you want to do this at home find some rocks, paint them using paint pens, and spray them with a sealer to protect them from the elements over time. Place these little acts of kindness in your garden or amongst the community where other rocks are located.

  • TikTok Dance Class

During this program, teens share some of today’s trendiest TikTok dances, then work together to brainstorm, create, film, and edit 60-second videos. Perfect choreography is not the goal: Just have fun dancing, laughing, and creating together! Note: It’s okay if you don’t want to be in front of the camera, you can help behind the scenes. You can also do this at home with friends and family! Be sure to tag us on Facebook!

  • Board Games & Brownies

Play board games, make a new friend, and enjoy delicious brownies.

  • Slime & Unwind

School is back in session and you need a time and place to decompress. Visit the library to make a little mess and decompress. The best part, you’re learning without even realizing you’re learning. To enjoy slime fun at home, follow the link https://littlebinsforlittlehands.com/how-to-make-slime-recipes-elmers-glue/.

  • Perler Beads

Make a keychain or bookmark using small plastic beads. Arrange them on a special pegboard to form a design. Then, using an iron and wax paper, the beads melt together. When they cool off, you have a solid piece of plastic of your design.

  • Dot Art Decorations

International Dot Day is soon approaching and we want to use your art to display in the library. The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds is a story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. Teens/Tweens are encouraged to “make their make” by transforming a dot on a piece of paper into something more.

  • Solar Observation

On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse is due to take place. We are going to look at the Sun to see what the big fuss is all about. We will be using SUNoculars and a SolarMax telescope to safely observe the Sun.

  • Mini Golf Day

Happy Mini Golf Day! Stop by to enjoy a great social activity or simply practice your putting skills.
