There will be no in-person program or scheduled gathering for this event. Patrons are invited to stop by, add a note to our Library Love display, pick up a themed bookmark, and enjoy a cozy February read—at your own pace.

  • Hearts & Art

    Celebrate February with creativity and connection! Using a large wooden heart as your canvas, create a one-of-a-kind art piece inspired by love, friendship, books, or someone who inspires you. Participants may trace a design or create their own, then bring it to life with acrylic paint or paint markers. This relaxed, open-ended program is perfect for all skill levels. All supplies provided.

  • Love of Storytelling

    The Music and Story of Jimmie Rodgers Join us for a talk exploring the life and music of Jimmie Rodgers, a Meridian native whose storytelling through song helped shape American music. Learn how his experiences, travels, and influences became stories that still resonate today.

  • Beading with My Besties

    Join us for a fun and creative craft session where we’ll make friendship bracelets and Perler bead designs! Bring a friend or make a new one as you bead, chat, and create something totally you. All supplies provided.

  • Places You’ll Go

    Inspired by Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, teens will explore interests, possible futures, and next steps through creative planning and discussion.

  • Jackson State University Youth Alcohol and Drug Education

    This program brings engaging, eye-opening experiences to drivers ages 16–20, highlighting the real-life dangers and consequences of alcohol- and drug-impaired driving while connecting with teens and young adults all across Mississippi.

  • Math Challenge

    Celebrate Math Awareness Month with a lighthearted afternoon of brain teasers, number games, and quick challenges! No grades, no pressure—just a chance to test your problem-solving skills and enjoy a fun mental workout. All levels welcome, from math fans to the math-curious!

  • Tiny Ceramic World

    Color and decorate small ceramic pieces like fairy doors, gnomes, and bird baths using acrylic paint pens to create your own tiny world.

  • Chubby Bunny Plush Pillow

    Create a soft fleece bunny pillow while learning basic hand-sewing skills. All materials provided—no sewing experience required.

  • Balloon Creations

    Get creative with modeling balloons and try your hand at making animals, sculptures, and fun designs. We’ll have supplies, examples, and basic tips to get you started—then it’s up to you to see what you can create! Balloons may pop during the program. If loud noises bother you, feel free to bring noise-canceling headphones or earplugs.

  • Silent Games & Signs

    Try fun games and team challenges without using your voice! Use gestures, visual clues, and optional sign language guides while playing silent charades, Pictionary, and group activities. Explore different ways to communicate in this interactive program celebrating Deaf History Month.
