• Friends of the Library Meeting

    The Friends of the Library will meet on Tuesday, July 14, at 3:00 PM in the Boardroom on the second floor of the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library. The Friends of the Library support the library through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer efforts that help enhance library programs, services, and collections. Friends members and anyone interested in learning more about the organization are welcome to attend.

  • K-5th Grade: Dino Eggs

    K–5th Grade

    The children will use rocks and paint to create the illusion of a dinosaur in an egg.

  • 6th-12th Grades: Extinction Eruption

    Step back into the age of the dinosaurs and explore the science of volcanoes through fun, hands-on experiments and activities. Participants will meet on the first floor of the library in the Magazine Section.

  • Adults: Ice Age Ice Cream

    Travel back to the Ice Age for a cool and tasty adventure! Make your own ice cream in a bag and discover how simple ingredients, ice, and salt work together to create a delicious frozen treat.

  • All Ages: Chess Club

    Think ahead. Make your move. Unearth your strategy this summer at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library! Join us for Chess Club every Tuesday during June and July from 2:30 PM–4:30 PM as part of our Summer Reading 2026 theme: Unearth a Story. Whether you’re brand new to chess or already a skilled strategist, players of all experience levels are welcome. Come learn the basics, sharpen your skills, challenge friends, and enjoy an afternoon of prehistoric-themed fun and friendly competition at the library.

  • Adults: BINGO

    Join us for a fun-filled morning of bingo at the library! Gather with friends, meet fellow patrons, and enjoy a few rounds of friendly competition. Small prizes will be available for winners, with a limit of 2 prizes per person.
